The Sr Cloud Engineer - Kubernetes role at Rackspace focuses on the design and implementation of cutting-edge cloud solutions, emphasizing Kubernetes across major public cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure. This remote work engineering position is ideal for a proactive software engineer who thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute critical tasks and deliverables, tailoring solutions to stakeholder requirements.
• Engineer high-level solutions that tackle new complexities and enhance performance.
• Develop and implement frameworks and best practices to guide customers effectively.
• Design, construct, and manage sophisticated cloud-based applications using Kubernetes.

Required Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in public cloud environments.
• Proven expertise in managing Multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters with 75+ nodes on platforms like EKS, AKS, or GKE.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cloud services including Compute Engine, Load Balancing, and Cloud Storage.
• Proficient in infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Skilled in developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced skills in automating cloud technologies and deploying applications using languages like Bash, Java, Python, or GO.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as OTel Datadog, New Relic, and Synthetic Testing.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.
• Knowledgeable in multi-cloud architectures and deployments.
