Job Overview

We are Zopa, a leading fintech company that started as the first peer-to-peer lending platform in 2005. In 2020, we launched Zopa Bank, redefining the banking experience by putting people at the center of everything we do. We are seeking a Platform Engineer (Developer Experience) to join our high-impact Developer Experience (DevX) team in London.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week, with the option to work from abroad for up to 120 days a year.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect the Platform Evolution: Design templates and workflows to migrate hundreds of microservices onto GitHub Actions.


• Stakeholder Engagement: Meet with product squads to identify friction points and write technical RFCs to solve them.


• Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze DORA/DX metrics to prove that your tools have increased delivery experience (speed, stability, flow).


• Mentoring: Level up our mid-level and associate engineers through pairing and high-standard code reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Programming Knowledge: You'll spend time writing high-quality Go code to build APIs, CLIs, tools, and automation providers.


• Platform Visionary: Build self-service platforms that allow people to easily deploy stuff for themselves.


• CI/CD Specialist: Deep, production-level experience with GitHub Actions and Jenkins is essential.


• Infrastructure Native: Power user of Kubernetes and AWS (including Lambdas).


• Proactive Communicator: Comfortable presenting to stakeholders, writing clear documentation, and acting as the "face" of the DevX team.


• The "Product" Mindset: Experience with measuring success based on quantitative and qualitative metrics.
