Cloud Engineer (Remote)

These factories deliver modern applications that drive the convergence of AI/ML, Data Science Platforms, Blockchain and Microservices for DoD, Healthcare and Civilian Agencies.  
 
Seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer for the DoD Unified Platform, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing scalable solutions using AWS GovCloud. Utilize scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) along with expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation, and containerization technologies. Ensure system security, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to a dynamic IT environment with strong problem-solving and communication skills. This is a full-time remote position.

 

About the role:

 

    • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Understand and analyze the requirements of various teams to provide scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
    • Utilize cloud computing concepts and architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to optimize system performance.
    • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline processes.
    • Implement infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
    • Deploy and manage containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of the cloud infrastructure by implementing networking concepts like VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
    • Collaborate with teams to establish and enforce monitoring and logging practices for system performance and availability.
    • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain optimal system functionality.

 

Skills / Qualifications:

 

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Top Secret clearance
    • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
    • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
    • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
    • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
    • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
    • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to ensure system performance and availability.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
