The role: We are looking for an expert DevOps Engineer to join our team in Athens and play a critical role in improving our development infrastructure, effectiveness and experience. If you have a solid background in DevOps for high-availability, high-performance, large-scale cloud systems and a passion for ultra-efficient and resilient software delivery we would like to meet you.

 

 

You will have the opportunity to cross and merge the boundaries that exist between software engineering, testing and IT Operations and work with our technical leadership, Product Managers, Development Leads, Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver, operate and improve the full stack of our technology products. You will be exposed to and work closely together in state-of-the-art technologies that leverage the latest in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

 

 

Tech Stack: Azure infrastructure and services such as Kubernetes (AKS), Service Fabric, App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Active Directory, Application Insights and more; programming/scripting languages like C# .NET, .NET core, React, Python, bash, Powershell; MongoDB, InfluxDB, Teamcity, Git, Jira/Confluence, Grafana/Prometheus.

 

 

What you will do in this role:

 

  • Design, build, test and maintain our configuration management infrastructure. Install and configure environments and solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, assist with all stages of test data, develop interface stubs and simulators and perform script maintenance and updates.
  • Collaborate with Development Leads, software engineers, data scientists and other technical staff members to plan and manage code releases
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) where server environments are described in declarative manifests and stored as code, so that product team members can provision infrastructure for testing or maintenance
  • Jointly shape and progressively implement the Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) vision, providing all necessary tools and enabling teams to use them to perform CI/CD and test automation
  • Own, operate and coordinate system health, security and performance monitoring and the relevant KPIs
  • Investigate and resolve technical infrastructure issues, multitasking and being able to flexibly deal with multiple urgent situations at a time; pro-actively vet and preempt root causes
  • Document and maintain development operations procedures; train others on them

 

Requirements

 

 

What you bring to the team:

 

  • 3+ years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer in a cloud setting, preferably MS Azure
  • Proficiency in operating system administration, networking protocols and network security and administration
  • Understanding of virtualization, containerization and cloud deployment concepts and practices; expert knowledge in relevant scripting languages, system & server administration and mass system deployment
  • Solid understanding of modern relational and document Database technologies, preferably MS SQL and MongoDB
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts, pipelines and tools
  • Work experience in QA and test-automation
  • Work experience is system health and performance monitoring/tuning
  • 2+ years of work experience as a software engineer or similar, preferably in C#.Net is an asset
  • Problem-solving attitude
