Temper is an agentic integration platform for the real economy. We're building specialized AI agents that handle the full lifecycle of integration: gathering requirements in plain English, generating integration code, testing, deploying, and keeping integrations alive in production. When something breaks, the agents fix it. We have paying enterprise customers and real integrations running in production, with more demand than we can keep up with. We're seed-funded with over $8M raised and have an earliest team of under 10.

Temper is solving the fundamental problem of connectivity in the physical economy. The physical economy runs on networks of interconnected companies, but on systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Every time two companies need to exchange data, someone builds a custom integration by hand. We believe AI agents are the way to fix this.

🎯 The Role

You'll own the infrastructure and platform layer end-to-end, working directly with Nick (CTO). Temper is two hard infrastructure problems stacked on each other: a mini cloud platform, basically a Vercel for integration runtime where every customer's code runs with durable execution, sandboxed isolation, and self-healing. Plus an agent infrastructure that writes, tests, and deploys that code at scale in production. On top of both, full observability into everything integrations and agents are doing, shipped as a single-tenant, self-hostable product customers can run inside their own cloud.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure and platform layer end-to-end
• Build agent orchestration across multiple specialized agents coordinating complex workflows
• Develop platform engineering: a mini Vercel for integration runtime with durable execution
• Create self-healing systems that detect failures and recover autonomously
• Build a knowledge base of undocumented systems that gets smarter with every integration
• Set the engineering patterns every future infra hire builds on
• Help recruit that team from your network
• Grow into leading the domain within a year

📌 Required Qualifications

• Run Kubernetes in production: operated it, scaled it, debugged it at 2am
• Owned infrastructure or a platform end-to-end: shipped it, scaled it, kept it alive
• Operated in fast, ambiguous, under-resourced environments -- 3+ years at a high-growth startup
• Code with AI agents and lean into it, with enough taste to know what's worth shipping
• Hold strong technical opinions and change them when the evidence says so
• Move independently
