Chief Platform Architect

Job Overview

Quantinuum is seeking a Chief Platform Architect for the Quantum Software Developer Platform. This is a technical leadership role focused on designing and overseeing Quantinuum’s developer platform for quantum computers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and specifications of a high-performance developer platform
• Refine quantum computer access API and web portal architecture for performance, scalability and multi-region operation
• Transform web portal into an application development and delivery framework using cloud-based hybrid workflow engine
• Define standard interfaces for hosting application components and building applications
• Ensure security and reliability of the platform as it scales
• Deliver customizable cloud-based hybrid applications to end users
• Work across business units to define and maintain the technology roadmap
• Foster a culture of excellence through coding standards, architectural reviews and mentoring

Required Qualifications

• 15-20 years software engineering experience, with 3-5+ years as senior architect/lead on developer platforms
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native solutions
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, developer portals and observability tools
• Proven success designing large-scale software systems
• Ability to lead architectural work and influence teams without direct authority
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred
