Platform Engineer

Job Overview

Moment Technology is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team at Moment HQ. As a Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in building next-generation trading and portfolio management technology. Our core product suite includes high-throughput market data pipelines, automated smart order routing algorithms, real-time portfolio ledgering and position tracking, and high-cardinality portfolio optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect \"golden paths\" by building and maintaining core shared libraries, SDKs, and code-generation tools that power our entire engineering organization.


• Design and optimize cloud infrastructure, taking ownership of our AWS ecosystem (ECS, RDS, MSK, etc.).


• Treat the platform as a product by embedding with product teams to understand their friction points and championing a philosophy of building intuitive and helpful tools.


• Elevate observability by setting the standard for how we observe and debug our systems, improving alerting strategy, and teaching the wider engineering team how to troubleshoot effectively.


• Be a mentor and technical leader by driving technical standards across the company through documentation, guides, presentations, and mentoring.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Deep expertise in backend programming - You have significant experience building high-performance backend services or libraries and understand the nuances of the language.

Cloud fluency - You have architected and managed production workloads on AWS or other clouds, with knowledge of ECS, RDS, Lambda, and data streaming services.

A DevEx mindset - You have a history of building tools that make developers' lives easier and take pride in writing clear, accessible guides for your tools.
