Senior Platform Engineer (Azure)

The Role:

As our next Senior Platform Engineer, you'll be leading the focus on DevOps and Azure Kubernetes, architecting and managing a secure, scalable infrastructure on Azure to promote connectivity and seamless integration with client applications.

Your key responsibilities as a Senior Platform Engineer will be:

• Design, implement and manage a secure, scalable, and robust infrastructure on Azure with a focus on Kubernetes (AKS). 
• Develop automation scripts and frameworks to streamline the deployment and management of services and applications. 
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure design patterns and practices are conducive to automated deployments and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). 
• Manage and optimize CI/CD tools and pipelines. 
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance of all the platform services. 
• Incorporate security practices throughout the infrastructure to protect against threats and vulnerabilities. 
• Drive efficiency, automation, and best practices to improve the deployment and operationalization of our platform. 
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's continuous learning and improvement.  
• Document actions to turn findings into repeatable and automated processes

To join us as a Senior Platform Engineer you will need the following experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field. 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a focus on Containerization, DevOps practices and tools. 
• Minimum of 5 years of current experience with Azure Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes and experience managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). 
• Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep. 
• Proficiency in scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, or Python. 
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar. 
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and performance tuning tools like Prometheus, Grafana,  Azure Monitor. 
• Knowledge of security best practices and tools in a cloud and containerized environment. 
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills (fluent in English)

Other Desirable Skills 

• Istio and other service mesh experience 
• Certification in Azure and/or Kubernetes is highly preferred. 
• Coding in more than one Language
