ESG Book went through a successful series B funding round in 2022 and will now continue to advance ESG Book’s next-generation technology capabilities, enabling clients to meet increasingly complex sustainability requirements, and accelerate the company’s expansion as it responds to growing demand for technology enabled ESG data solutions.
Your role will involve:
- Owning our CI/CD pipelines and identifying tools, patterns and best practices for automation and observability.
- Automating our platform setup and developing infrastructure as code to ensure synergy across our different environments.
- Designing and implementing a comprehensive monitoring, logging and tracing environment, ensuring observability and alerting is in place.
- Reviewing and setting up new security & governance best practices to maintain platform, data integrity & developer access.
- Taking ownership of our Kubernetes platform and develop a roadmap of improvements.
- Ensuring our systems are scalable, automated, and secure.
- Providing guidance to and sharing best practices with junior team members.
- Working as part of a team to deliver product features and functionality.
- Helping design & architect software for a range of services and systems.
- Working with our development teams to incorporate infrastructure best practices and standardize our build and deployment process.
- Creating and maintain internal documentation.
Requirements
- Cloud platform experience for Kubernetes, CICD, SQL databases, queuing and scheduling systems. (GCP preferred).
- A good understanding of Docker, containerization, and deployment of reliable, highly available, and scalable APIs, ETL, ELT processes e.g. Argo workflows, airflow.
- Kubernetes (ideally GKE) tooling experience e.g. Helm, Istio, Linkerd, Knative.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes multi-cluster communication, service meshes, control plane, ingress controllers & multi-tenant clusters.
- Knowledge of automation and scaling Kubernetes operations (HPA).
- Good knowledge of Go/Python & bash.
- CI/CD experience e.g. GCP Cloud Build, argo-cd.
- Knowledge of message queues and best practices (Pub/Sub & Kafka preferred).
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Monitoring tools and best practices e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, statsd, Thanos.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, VPN, VPC).
- Familiar with CNCF projects.
- Good knowledge of agile processes.
- Exposure to SRE concepts.
- Service to service communication concepts e.g. REST, gRPC, event-based communication.
- Incident Management e.g. PagerDuty, AlertManager.
- Knowledge of tracing tools and best practices.
- Experience with working on databases & database management (CloudSQL, Postgres, BigQuery, BigTable, Cassandra).
- SCM tooling/git.
