🎯 The Role

As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and platform services. You will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud-based solutions.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Build and operate a highly available platform on Microsoft Azure.
• Provide and operate cloud infrastructures for business-critical applications.
• Develop and implement platform standards for security, availability, scalability, and operations.
• Take responsibility for monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Automate operational and deployment processes to increase efficiency and quality.
• Plan and implement the migration of existing on-premises systems to the Azure Cloud.
• Analyze existing applications and infrastructures regarding their cloud capability.
• Prepare, consolidate, and modernize system landscapes in the data center.
• Develop technical target architectures for the transition from legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.
• Steer and accompany transformation projects in close cooperation with specialist departments and development teams.
• Build and maintain automated infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop and optimize Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes (CI/CD).
• Standardize platform services and operational processes.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operation of cloud resources.
• Introduce and further develop modern platform and DevOps tools.
• Design, build, and operate secure network architectures between cloud, data center, and customer systems.
• Administer and further develop VPN, IPSec, and APN connections.
• Plan and implement hybrid network structures.
• Analyze and resolve complex network and connection issues.
• Support the development of secure communication and integration concepts.
• Advise software development on architecture, operations, and deployment topics.
• Provide and further develop platform services for development teams.
• Support with containerization, automation, and operational transitions.
• Conduct technical reviews and support with solution designs.
• Promote DevOps principles and close collaboration between development and operations.
• Implement Security-by-Design and compliance requirements within the platform.
• Support with audits and regulatory and security-relevant requirements.
• Establish and further develop operational standards, guidelines, and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of cloud governance and security concepts.

📌 Required Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, or a comparable technical degree, or equivalent qualifications.
• Certifications in the Microsoft environment.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, or comparable technologies).
• Experience with Linux and/or Windows servers.
• Knowledge of modern automation and deployment methods.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1 level).
• Good English language skills (at least B2 level).
• High self-responsibility and solution orientation.
• Enjoyment in modernizing existing IT landscapes.
• Able to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills.
• Team-oriented work style and enjoyment of collaboration with development teams.
