Join Birdie as a Senior Platform Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and implementation of our advanced technology stack. This remote work engineering position focuses on enhancing our Kubernetes-based micro-services architecture, crucial for our core engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor both Platform and Software Engineers.
• Collaborate with the Platform Lead, Staff Engineers, and our VP of Engineering to craft and refine engineering strategies.
• Promote reliability and stability across the Engineering Organization.
• Implement SRE principles to improve our product's resilience and efficiency.
• Enhance our DevOps practices, including security best-practices, CI/CD, and maximizing AWS capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Strong passion for reliability engineering and significant experience in a senior individual contributor (IC) role within a scaling company.
• Proven experience in writing code to address DevOps/Platform challenges, with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, adapting strategies to meet evolving needs.
• Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and influence.
• A strong product mindset with a focus on understanding and enhancing user (developer) experiences.
• Commitment to best practices in technology and an eagerness to drive innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep expertise in AWS, cloud-native architecture patterns, and Kubernetes (specifically EKS).
• Proficiency in at least one coding or scripting language.
• Experience with modern tracing, metrics, and observability tools.
