ABOUT THE TEAM
The Platform team at Beamery enables engineering teams to build scalable and reliable services by supporting a foundation of tools and common services. These services include our managed Kubernetes clusters, observability tooling, and much more. We’re responsible for setting best practices around incident management and cost controls whilst empowering teams to build it, run it.
We’re a remote team, spread across multiple countries, but our home is in our amazing London HQ.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AT BEAMERY
🚀Building and evolving Platform’s managed services and tools to enable teams to run scalable and reliable services
🚀Driving continuous improvement in incident response across Platform and the wider engineering organisation, including SLOs, alerting, dashboards
🚀Working with cutting edge technology in an agile environment
🚀Designing scalable and secure solutions to complex problems
🚀Providing technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers
🚀Play a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant company culture that champions creativity by championing a welcoming atmosphere where team members are empowered to openly share their thoughts and innovative ideas.
🚀Participate in company-wide initiatives and learning & development opportunities, such as tribes, hackathons, and programs like Women in Engineering, to foster a diverse and inclusive culture
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
🚀Hands-on SRE experience, including being on-call maintaining critical cloud-based services (We are GCP)
🚀Proficient with Go and/or JS/TS - most of our tooling is written in Go
🚀Expertise in building and maintaining complex applications in the cloud
🚀Highly experienced with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, particularly proficient in Terraform
🚀Operational experience with some of our key infrastructure components is highly desirable, including Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Istio
🚀Pragmatic architecture design experience, including service-oriented architecture (SOA), ensuring a balance of factors to deliver the best possible solution
