We manage compute infrastructure and most of the apps that rely on it. Said apps, for most part, are not designed or implemented by us, e.g. blockchains, so we do a lot of reading - documentation, code, Slack channels and Discord servers - in order to build an informed understanding of the architecture of said apps, how to better operate them, and, ultimately, how to debug, maybe even fix them, when things don’t go as expected. There’s also a lot of writing, particularly documenting what we learn and, equally important, what went wrong and how we can avoid it in the future.
