Software development in the automotive industry comes with unique challenges. From deploying artifacts to cloud, mobile devices, and vehicles, to meeting vehicle security certifications and navigating different types of testing and simulation, it can be overwhelming for automotive software developers. That's why the Enterprise Technology Engineering Team (EnTec) builds solutions that enhance productivity, so developers can focus on their true passion – software development – without being bogged down by setup and customization tasks.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with a background in backend infrastructure development and DevOps philosophies to ensure that our services and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest standards. A successful candidate needs to be knowledgeable and passionate about software development, secure technology infrastructure, automation, and continuous improvement based on data, while exhibiting a "Customer First" mindset.

In this role you will report to a Senior Engineer in a hybrid work environment, requiring your presence on-site 3 days per week.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

    • Architect public cloud environments while adhering to industry best practices for multiple engineering teams using IaC (Infrastructure as code) tools
    • Improve current codebase and deployment pipelines
    • Work with engineering teams to implement CI/CD pipelines
    • Support the engineering team with cloud infrastructure issues and needs in data storage, compute performance, routing, and networking
    • Choose the correct tools to monitor infrastructure health and cost, and propose solutions to improve both
    • Maintain and upgrade infrastructure with minimal to zero downtime
    • Perform performance tuning and optimization across the cloud infrastructure stack
    • Maintain documentation of systems and architecture
    • Develop and implement standards to improve both technical and logistical processes
    • Communicate and work with a global team while providing immediate support for North American affiliates
    • Mentor and support junior members

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience
    • 5+ years of experience architecting, deploying, and operating solutions built on AWS, GCP, or Azure
    • 5+ years of experience writing code in Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, or a similar language
    • Experience with Linux server administration
    • Analyze requirements, design and implement solutions to automate routine tasks
    • Clear interest in DevOps (and/or SRE) topics such as automation, application/platform management, performance assessment, and monitoring

 

NICE TO HAVES:

 

    • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design
    • Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, including (but not limited to):
    • ・Container and Container Orchestration tools (such as Docker and Kubernetes)
    • ・CI/CD (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions)
    • ・Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform)
    • ・Analytics and Monitoring tools (Grafana, ELK, Splunk, and DataDog)
    • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and incident management
    • Have previous experience in an SRE, DevOps, or Production Engineering role
    • AWS Advanced Networking/Security/DevOps/Solutions Architect Certifications
