UiPath is seeking a high-impact, principal level Site Reliability Engineer to operate with autonomy and take operational leadership in restoring stability to our large-scale distributed services. This role blends deep technical SRE expertise with the authoritative presence of an Incident Commander. You will partner with global teams to improve service availability, reduce operational toil, and ensure systems scale reliably under real-world conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Incident Command for high-stakes technical events, establishing command and control and orchestrating cross-functional response efforts
Act as a key escalation point for complex issues, diagnosing failures and resolving disruptions promptly
Own the communication lifecycle during incidents, delivering executive-level briefings with clear business impact and recovery timelines
Lead post-incident retrospectives and implement automated self-healing solutions
Define and improve service health through SLIs, SLOs, proactive monitoring, and early-warning alerts
Design and implement automation to reduce manual intervention during incidents and routine operations
Ensure backup, restore, and disaster recovery capabilities are implemented, tested, and maintained
Partner with development teams to champion high availability and readiness of services
Mentor and support other engineers, raising the overall incident response and reliability maturity
Required Qualifications
7+ years in SRE, Cloud Operations, or related technical field, with at least 3 years in a lead responder or command-oriented role
Demonstrated ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under extreme pressure
Skills in analyzing system artifacts, network, and performance dashboard data to lead root cause analysis
Strong proficiency in Python or Go and a holistic understanding of distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure)
Deep experience with Prometheus/Grafana, Open Telemetry, or equivalent Observability stack
Willingness to participate in the on-call rotation as an Incident Commander
