🎯 The Role
We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Technical Director to join our Cloud & DevOps Practice in Canada. This senior leadership role combines deep technical expertise, strategic consulting, solution architecture, and delivery leadership to help clients modernize their platforms, accelerate software delivery, and unlock value through cloud-native technologies and AI-powered solutions.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience across Microsoft Azure, modern web application architectures including Next.js, and emerging Agentic AI technologies. You will guide enterprise transformation initiatives, shape technical strategy, mentor engineering teams, and partner with business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions at scale.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership
- Define and drive technical vision, architecture strategies, and best practices for cloud and DevOps engagements.
- Lead the design and delivery of large-scale cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure.
- Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, security controls, and operational excellence practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, technology leaders, and product organizations.
- Agentic AI & Innovation
- Lead the design and implementation of Agentic AI solutions leveraging modern AI orchestration frameworks, LLMs, copilots, autonomous workflows, and intelligent agents.
- Help clients identify opportunities to automate complex business processes through AI-driven systems.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and define adoption strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Architect secure, scalable, and responsible AI solutions within enterprise environments.
- Cloud & DevOps Excellence
- Drive cloud adoption, modernization, migration, and platform engineering initiatives.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, reliability engineering, and cloud governance practices.
- Guide platform teams in implementing scalable DevOps operating models and automation strategies.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Delivery & Client Engagement
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple engagements.
- Support pre-sales, solutioning, technical discovery workshops, and proposal development.
- Provide executive-level communication and technical leadership throughout project delivery.
- Manage technical risk, architecture decisions, and delivery quality.
- Talent Development
- Mentor architects, engineers, and technical managers.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Contribute to capability development within the Cloud & DevOps practice.
📌 Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud architecture, platform engineering, or DevOps.
- 5+ years in technical leadership, architecture leadership, or consulting leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, architecture patterns, governance, security, and operations.
- Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using Next.js, React, and modern web architectures.
- Proven experience implementing or architecting Agentic AI, AI-enabled automation, autonomous workflows, copilots, or advanced AI solution frameworks.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, containers, and distributed systems.
- Strong client-facing consulting experience with executive stakeholder management.
- Microsoft Azure (App Services, AKS, Functions, AI Services, Networking, Security, Identity, Data Services, and Platform Engineering capabilities).
- DevOps platforms and practices including GitHub, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation.
- Containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems.
- Observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and cloud security best practices.
- AI and machine learning solution integration within enterprise applications.
⭐ Nice to Have Qualifications
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI Service and enterprise AI platform implementations.
- Experience with platform engineering and internal developer platforms.
- Background in consulting, digital transformation, or systems integration.
- Experience leading distributed and global delivery teams.
🎁 Benefits
This is a 4 months temporary position based in Canada. The offered salary range is CAD $90 - 98 per hour, depending on experience and location.
