Steel Perlot is looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our team and help us build and maintain our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with our researchers and quantitative analysts to design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable solutions for data ingestion, processing, and analysis. You will also leverage your expertise in infrastructure as code tools, Kubernetes, and containerization to ensure the optimal performance and security of our systems.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS, infrastructure as code, and Kubernetes.
• Deploy containerized applications.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Quantitative Researchers to understand the business and technical requirements and provide cloud engineering solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance, availability, and security of our cloud systems.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and best practices to improve our cloud engineering capabilities.

 

Required Skills

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering (SRE, DevOps, DataOps) or related roles
• Proficient in AWS services and tools (EC2, S3, EKS, ECR, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Prior exposure to a diverse range of cloud environments, such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Expert in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience in Kubernetes and containerized application deployment and management
• Docker containerization expertise
• Python programming experience
• Linux OS proficiency
• Experience with authentication protocols and systems (SAML, OAuth2, LDAP, Microsoft AD) preferred
• Git version control mastery
• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions / AWS CodePipeline)
• Familiarity with cloud-native compute orchestration is a plus
