Job Overview

Woven by Toyota is contributing to Toyota's transformation into a mobility company once in a century. We operate around four pillars: AD/ADAS (automated driving and advanced driver-assistance systems), Arene (a vehicle software production platform for Software-Defined Vehicles), Woven City (a mobility test course), and Cloud & AI (digital infrastructure supporting collaboration).

Team Overview

We are on a mission to improve the productivity and efficiency of developers across Woven by Toyota and Toyota as a whole. We prioritize safety and accelerate engineering team development speed through cutting-edge technology. We design modern, agile, and transparent services to realize Woven by Toyota's vision of \"Mobility to Love, Safety to Live\".

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to the team in technical decision-making, roadmap planning, cross-team collaboration, and mentorship
• Develop software systems for observability platforms to enhance product monitoring, reliability, and development efficiency
• Monitor and respond to incidents as part of on-call rotation to maintain service health. On-call is 8-hour shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with remote support possible
• Provide L2 support for user requests, troubleshooting product issues to assist customers
• Learn from incidents through blameless post-mortems and improve service reliability issues through coding
• Establish and promote SRE best practices within the product team, including capacity planning, chaos testing, and disaster recovery training
• Reduce toil through automation to improve efficiency for development and operations teams

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of practical experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud engineering, observability engineering, or backend development
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Go, Python, or similar programming languages, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design
• Intermediate or advanced expertise in public cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with on-call support, troubleshooting, and incident management in production environments
• Business-level English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with SRE best practices including SLO monitoring, disaster recovery planning, chaos testing, capacity planning, and toil reduction
• Experience with APM solutions and monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, and GCP Monitoring
• Technical lead or team lead experience in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering teams
• Certifications in AWS, GCP, or Kubernetes
• Business-level Japanese proficiency
