About the Role

The Cloud Operations team at Poshmark plays a mission-critical role in ensuring our large-scale distributed systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient. As an SRE/DevOps Intern, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure, helping build automation, improve system observability, and support production reliability. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams from early design stages through production, gaining hands-on experience in maintaining and scaling high-availability systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on a 10-week impactful project combining automation and operational excellence


• Build automation tools, scripts, and services to improve system reliability and efficiency


• Develop solutions to monitor system health, availability, and security


• Assist in application deployments, testing, and release processes


• Contribute to improving observability, alerting, and incident response systems


• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance


• Learn and apply best practices in SRE, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure


• You’ll be supported by a dedicated mentor and peer buddy to ensure a meaningful and enriching internship experience.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field


• Strong programming/scripting skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, or JavaScript


• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments


• Exposure to version control systems like Git or SVN


• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• A curious mindset with a strong desire to solve complex problems at scale


• Interest in systems, infrastructure, and reliability engineering


• Ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of HTTP, SSL, and REST APIs


• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure


• Familiarity with systems like Tomcat, Redis, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch


• Experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)


• Hands-on experience through hackathons, personal projects, open-source contributions, or internships

Standard Requirements for All Interns

• Demonstrated interest in Poshmark’s mission, community, or industry


• Current or rising senior enrolled in an accredited university, or recent college graduate


• Seniors should expect to graduate between Fall 2026 and Summer 2027


• Strong communication, collaboration, and curiosity


• Available to work a M-F 5-day work schedule between 8am-5pm


• Willing to commute 5x per week to PMHQ in Redwood City, CA
