π― The Role
This is an opportunity for someone with strong technical troubleshooting skills and hands-on trading platform experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-moving production environment.
β Key Responsibilities
Provide front-line SRE and production support for equity trading systems and Fidessa flows, covering order routing, FIX connectivity, client onboarding, drop-copy, DMA, algorithmic trading, and high-touch/low-touch workflows.
Develop automation, scripts, operational tooling, and CI/CD capabilities to reduce manual effort, strengthen reliability, and streamline deployments, releases, and production checkouts.
Partner with business, development, QA, infrastructure, and global support teams to improve production readiness, documentation, operational standards, and platform stability, while participating in late-evening, weekend, and on-call support rotations.
π Required Qualifications
Strong experience supporting front-office trading systems in a production environment, ideally within Equities or Capital Markets, with hands-on knowledge of Fidessa, OMS/EMS platforms, order routing, client connectivity, and post-trade processing.
Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and FIX Protocol, including FIX 4.2, 4.4 and 5.0, message analysis, session behaviour, sequence resets, rejects, cancels/replaces, drop copy, and client onboarding flows.
Experience with monitoring and observability technologies such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or ELK Stack, plus database and messaging technologies relevant to production trading environments.
Clear communication, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with traders, business users, technology teams, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders while carefully assessing business and operational impact.
β Desirable Experience
Experience supporting Cash Equities alongside additional asset classes such as Futures, Options, ETFs, Swaps, Bonds, or Derivatives.
Knowledge of TCP, UDP, multicast/unicast, latency analysis, firewall flows, connectivity troubleshooting, and packet-level diagnostics.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Git, GitHub Actions, JFrog, Ansible, Terraform, ArgoCD, ServiceNow, JIRA, or Confluence.
Familiarity with AWS or Azure and container platforms and tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Terraform, Helm Charts, or Lens.
Experience supporting compliance, legal, audit, or regulatory queries relating to trading activity, client flows, production logs, or production events.
