Senior Python, Cloud Infrastructure & AI Engineer

📋 Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced engineer to own solutions from application code through production. You’ll build and maintain Python applications, manage AWS and Linux environments, improve CI/CD and deployment reliability, and use AI-assisted development tools to deliver software safely.

This is a hands-on role spanning application development, cloud infrastructure, deployments, and production support.

🎯 The Role

You will develop and maintain applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework. You will also build APIs, background workers, integrations, and AWS Lambda functions.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Build APIs, background workers, integrations, and AWS Lambda functions.
• Support legacy Python applications and Python 3.x environments.
• Manage AWS services, Linux environments, application servers, and deployments.
• Maintain infrastructure automation using SaltStack, Packer, Docker, and Serverless Framework.
• Build and improve Jenkins-based CI/CD and release pipelines.
• Improve system reliability through monitoring, canary deployments, rollback, retry, and recovery practices.
• Maintain database, messaging, authentication, security, and external-service integrations.
• Manage Python dependencies, runtime environments, package builds, and reproducible deployments.
• Use AI tools for code analysis, development, refactoring, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Review AI-generated work through human review, security checks, and engineering approval.

📌 Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Hands-on AWS experience, particularly with Lambda and event-driven services.
• Experience managing Linux-based application environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, deployment automation, and production support.
• Experience with SaltStack or a similar configuration-management tool.
• Knowledge of MySQL or RDS, REST APIs, queues, authentication, TLS, and application security.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants, LLMs, or AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.

⭐ Desirable Experience

• Python 2-to-3 upgrades and dependency management.
• Ubuntu or Amazon Linux, Packer, AMIs, Gunicorn, Nginx, Apache, or systemd.
• AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, SES, Kinesis, IAM, Route 53, and CloudFront.
• Messaging, notification, GIS, XML, cryptography, or third-party API integrations.
• Secure development, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and production observability.
• Supporting high-availability or business-critical systems.
