📋 Job Overview

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take ownership of the cloud networking foundations that connect ICEYE's satellite operations, ground systems, and customer deliveries at global scale. Our AWS footprint has grown faster than our ability to formally own and evolve it, and this new role exists to change that. You'll bring structure, automation, and reliability to environments that today are stitched together and reactively maintained, directly impacting mission critical ISR capabilities.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Espoo, Finland
Department: Product Networking, Fleet Control and Satellite Communications
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Employment type: Permanent
Workplace model: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate cloud networking infrastructure (AWS preferred) supporting satellite operations and customer delivery
• Contribute hands-on to the networking layer of ICEYE's AWS infrastructure, helping the team build toward formal ownership
• Manage infrastructure through automation, API driven configuration, and version controlled change processes (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD)
• Contribute to the design of hybrid networks connecting cloud and on-premises environments
• Own critical production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and security against real-world threats

📌 Required Qualifications

• Solid, proven experience operating cloud infrastructure, AWS experience is preferred
• Strong understanding of core networking fundamentals, routing, and how these translate into hybrid and cloud environments
• Understanding of secure network design (VPNs, encrypted communications)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and IaC tooling (Git, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)
• Ability to design, explain, and defend network architecture decisions (trade-offs, diagrams, review with peers)
• Pragmatic, collaborative mindset with the ability to balance technical quality with business needs

⭐ Desirable Experience

• A background that evolved from classic networking into modern cloud environments
• Experience with on-premises networking hardware and physical infrastructure
• Expert-level experience with a major enterprise network operating system or firewall platform
• Experience and willingness for hands-on work with physical infrastructure

Base salary range for this position is 6000-8000 EUR per month (gross), depending on experience, and will be negotiated individually.
