We’re building a Product & Engineering team where people can do their best work that sits right at the heart of the business. We want to hire talented engineers who see Runa as an opportunity to grow and to make an impact. While we have traditionally run Python and TypeScript services running across Kubernetes (EKS), we are increasingly moving to a Serverless model with Step functions and Lambda functions, and a Distributed Event-Driven Architecture. Our persistence is a split between DynamoDb for a lot of our newer services, Aurora/Postgres and a sprinkling of other databases like Timestream for some specific use-cases.
We have structures in place from hiring and levelling to how we make technical decisions that will allow the right people to thrive and we want world class engineers to be a part of that journey.
The Role
Site Reliability Engineers work with our engineering teams to ensure we build services that work well at scale. We're looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who can help us design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable, reliable services. As a Senior SRE at Runa, you will work within our Platform team to build and run the core components that power the rest of Runa.
You will also partner with our other engineering teams to help make their services more performant, scalable, observable, and reliable. We believe every engineering team at Runa should be responsible for the software they build, and SREs play a critical part in providing the tools, practices, and expertise to make that happen.
What Excites You
Design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure used by all of Runa’s engineering teams
Work closely with the Engineering teams to enhance the Developer Experience across the stack, specifically in the Serverless ecosystem
Partner with engineering teams to ensure their products meet production standards
Participate in design reviews and production reviews for new features, products, or pieces of infrastructure
Debug production issues across services and levels of the stac
Plan for the growth of Runa’s infrastructure

Continued development of our infrastructure. We pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge, and want to stay that way. For example, how can we make it even easier to get new functionality quickly into the hands of our customers?
Technical resilience. As we become more integral to our customers’ businesses, how can we make sure that we can continue to serve them even when there are technical or logistics issues upstream?
