Infrastructure Engineering at Polar

We're thrilled to hire our first Infrastructure Engineer at Polar! We want to avoid creating silos between product and infrastructure engineering. You'll spearhead efforts to scale, reduce latency, and maintain world-class uptime while collaborating closely with backend engineers.

Frontend: React & Next.js with Tailwind CSS, Shadcn, TanStack Router and more.
Backend: Python (FastAPI), Postgres, Redis, Dramatiq
Cloud: Vercel, Render & AWS

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end architecture, implementation and maintenance of our infrastructure
• Define standards and best practices for infrastructure across the engineering team
• Lead reliability engineering practices: SLOs, on-call, incident response, and postmortems
• Drive world-class observability: metrics, tracing, logging, and alerting
• Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
• Continuously improve security, compliance, and data protection
• Mentor backend engineers to contribute confidently to infrastructure

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, SRE, or backend engineering
• Comfortable as the first dedicated infra hire
• Proven track record designing and operating high-availability systems
• Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code
• Strong background in observability, reliability, and incident management
• Excellent communicator and technical leader
