As a Platform Engineer in the Performance team, your mandate is to guarantee that One’s applications and services can scale to tens of millions of customers while maintaining our high standards of quality in customer experience and reliability. This role will impact One’s vision by taking performance and scalability concerns to the next level, enabling our talented Engineering org to meet business case requirements and industry standards for speed, scalability, and sustainability.
This role is responsible for:
Leading engineering projects from a performance standpoint including reviewing architectural proposals, capacity planning and building out performance tooling for upcoming launches
Experience deep-diving into functional code, database tables & queries to identify performance improvements based off production data or performance test results
Building out the performance framework, infrastructure, and methodology to empower every engineering team to take ownership of their performance while we focus on ONE’s performance at the highest level
Collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with product and business teams to keep our performance strategy up to date with an always-evolving product and operational roadmap
Background in defining & executing performance plans and strategies that track ongoing performance and future growth against our business goals
5+ Years experience. At least 2+ years leading technical initiatives to improve
A strong passion for performance and building out tooling from scratch to support the entire infrastructure
Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes deployment environments, performance tuning and monitoring
Experience working with Javascript, experience in Typescript is a big plus
An act-like-an-owner mentality. We have a bias toward taking action
Ability to prioritize performance needs across multiple product verticals, supporting engineering teams building out to support a rapidly growing user base
The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $205,000. Pay is generally based upon the level, complexity, responsibility, and job duties/requirements of the specific position. We then source candidates with the requisite skills, expertise, education, training, and experience. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.
