Resource Innovations is seeking a Network and Site Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, UT. The Network & Infrastructure Engineer is the primary hands-on owner for the procurement, provisioning, configuration, installation, maintenance, and lifecycle of the organization's network, connectivity, structured cabling, AV, and physical access technologies. The role requires strong Cisco CCNA-level fundamentals, disciplined troubleshooting across the OSI model, practical experience, and a collaborative team-first approach.

🎯 The Role

The Network and Site Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the hands-on ownership of the organization's network, connectivity, structured cabling, AV, and physical access technologies.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Own procurement, provisioning, configuration, installation, maintenance, documentation, and lifecycle management for internet circuits and WAN connectivity.
• Administer Cisco Meraki MX security appliances, Cisco/Meraki switches, and Meraki wireless infrastructure.
• Configure and support user VPN and site-to-site VPN connectivity.
• Monitor network availability, performance, capacity, firmware, licensing, and hardware lifecycle requirements.
• Coordinate circuit installations, service changes, escalations, renewals, and troubleshooting with carriers and vendors.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, standards, inventories, configuration records, and operational documentation.
• Oversee installation, testing, labeling, documentation, maintenance, and lifecycle of Category 5, 6, and 8 cabling as well as single and multimode fiber infrastructure.
• Coordinate cabling contractors and validate work against industry/organizational standards and site requirements.
• Support network closet readiness, equipment placement, power, patching, and physical connectivity.
• Support installation, administration, maintenance, and lifecycle of conference room and audio/visual systems, including Teams and Zoom room technologies where applicable.
• Administer personnel access control systems (PACS) and coordinate related vendor support.
• Provide backup-only support for PC provisioning and deployment when coverage or workload requires it.
• Apply working knowledge of POTS, fax, and analog telecommunications services when supporting legacy or site-specific requirements.
• Serve as the primary escalation resource for wired, wireless, VPN, circuit, and end-user connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot systematically through the OSI model, including endpoint configuration, physical connectivity, switching, routing, DNS, DHCP, authentication, and application reachability.
• Communicate clearly with end users, support personnel, vendors, and leadership during incidents and planned changes.
• Partner with the PC support team and remote on-site personnel/contacts for task execution and with the IT Director for architecture, complex configuration, standards, and lifecycle planning.

📌 Required Qualifications

• Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS, VPN technologies, wireless networking, and network security fundamentals.
• Practical experience administering Cisco and/or Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience supporting ISP circuits, carriers, and telecommunications vendors.
• Strong familiarity with end-user devices and operating-system-level network troubleshooting.
• Ability to create and maintain clear diagrams, standards, inventories, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, prioritization, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated team orientation. This role must collaborate effectively and cannot operate as a lone wolf.
• Ability and willingness to work primarily onsite and travel up to 25%.

⭐ Desirable Experience

• Actively pursuing, or interested in pursuing, Cisco CCNP certification.
• Experience in a distributed or multi-site environment.
• Experience with wireless surveys, RF troubleshooting, and wireless design fundamentals.
• Experience coordinating structured cabling projects and contractors.
• Experience with conference room systems, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or Logitech Rally technologies.
• Experience administering personnel access control platforms.
• Working knowledge of VoIP/POTS, analog lines, fax services, and legacy telecommunications.
