The Head of Product, Payments is a new role within our Product leadership team and will play a critical role in shaping our Product function as we scale.

The Role
As a Platform Manager, you’ll lead a team of platform engineers responsible for designing, building, and operating Modulr’s underlying infrastructure estate as well as the continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline to build, package, and deploy products. You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the platform and leading your team to manage and automate repetitive processes for development teams. You will have the opportunity to grow a talented team and continuously improve your platform to help achieve its goals.
The Team
In order to achieve our mission the team is made up of approximitely 10 engineers with a range of skills and experience which complement each other. We believe that in order to work most effectively in such a varied and ever changing technical landscape we need multidisciplinary people who are keen to learn and to lean on each other. Alongside technical delivery we also hold an evangelical role where we champion best practice and empowerment in our development teams.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of talented platform engineers.
Build new, and enhance existing, CI/CD frameworks to achieve our goal of enabling every developer to deploy to production at least once a day.
Create and manage extensible and flexible version and configuration management processes for multiple concurrent development, integration, test, and production environments.
Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and technologies to drive automation and optimisation of version control, configuration management and CI/CD processes.
Define and implement processes to track, update, and modify multiple dev/test environments, including the ability to create new ones quickly or remove unused ones.
Drive adoption of standardised processes to identify, implement, and track key metrics for visibility.
Recruit, develop, and retain talent to ensure the team has the skills and capabilities to meet business goals.
Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements, propose changes, and gain alignment to drive continuous improvement.
Manage on-call participation and oversee the quality of the service you provide.
Create infrastructure and products that promote and enforce high reliability.
About you

Skills & Experience
Previous experience managing multi-site technical teams in an agile environment.
Previous experience guiding and motivating teams to foster a collaborative environment and facilitated the resolution of conflicts.
Previous experience managing software development projects, ensuring they were completed in a timely manner, and met quality standards.
Provided individual mentoring and coaching to team members for career development and skill improvement.
Extensive experience in platform development and configuration management.
Previous experience with CI/CD pipelines, tools and infrastructures for applications.
Previous experience with software configuration management (SCM) environments for multiple parallel development efforts and complex branching strategies.
Previous experience managing complex development, test, integration, and production environments with different versions, building new environments, and providing support for existing ones.
Experience scripting to automate repetitive processes including creating build scripts.
Experience with repositories like GitHub, BitBucket, and Google Cloud Source Repositories.
Experience with CI/CD tools like TeamCity, Jenkins and Octopus, Ansible or GitLab.
Understanding of, and experience with, container builds using Docker.
Cloud experience, specifically working with AWS (preferred) or GCP.
Experience of working with diverse teams across wide geographical regions, both UK and India.
