Robotics Reliability Engineer - Motors, Mechanisms and Electronics

Job Overview

Seeking a Robotics Reliability Engineer specializing in motors, mechanisms, and electronics for a cutting-edge home robotics company.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive reliability requirements across different sub-systems, focusing on motors, mechanisms, and electronics
• Work with design engineers to understand failure physics and design accelerated test methods
• Oversee design and build of test setups for fatigue, vibration, shock, temperature, and humidity testing
• Perform root cause failure analysis during testing phases
• Prepare detailed test plans, execute tests, analyze reports, and present results to stakeholders
• Create and manage fleet analytics pipelines to identify and eliminate field failures
• Lead reliability-oriented testing and analysis initiatives
• Strengthen Design for Reliability (DFR) practices across engineering disciplines

Required Qualifications

• Technical degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 2-5 years of experience in reliability engineering
• Track record of defining reliability targets and test plans for consumer electronics
• Experience designing reliability test setups
• Statistical experience with Weibull++ or accelerated test models
• Solid understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Comfort with fast-paced startup environment
• High level of maturity, ownership, and pride in work
