Marvin is on a mission to end healthcare worker burnout. We partner with leading hospitals and healthcare employers across the U.S. to provide a proprietary mental health care platform for their physicians, nurses, and staff.
We are looking for a highly driven and versatile, proactive, and security-minded IT professional to join us as our first dedicated IT hire. You’ll own everything from high-level cloud and security infrastructure to day-to-day IT support, helping us scale securely and efficiently.
This role blends DevOps, cloud administration, and compliance responsibilities with hands-on IT support—ideal for someone excited to shape systems from the ground up in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and maintain our AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, uptime, and cost-efficiency.
Manage infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform.
Collaborate with engineering to support CI/CD pipelines, dev/test environments, and production deployments.
Proactively identify areas for automation across IT and cloud operations.
Implement and enforce security policies, with a strong focus on HIPAA and other regulatory frameworks.
Monitor and manage endpoint security, data protection, and user access controls.
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and ensure secure offboarding procedures.
Serve as the go-to resource for IT support: provisioning devices, resolving technical issues, and maintaining internal systems.
Set up, manage, and decommission user accounts and credentials (Okta, Google Workspace, etc.).
Drive onboarding and offboarding workflows for all employees.
Maintain and improve help desk processes and documentation.
Create and maintain IT policies, runbooks, and internal documentation.
Educate employees on best practices around security, tools, and operations.
Recommend and implement improvements to IT systems as the company scales.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience across IT operations, support, and cloud infrastructure—ideally in a startup or healthcare setting.
Hands-on AWS experience, including EC2, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and VPC networking.
Infrastructure-as-code skills (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
Security-first mindset, with working knowledge of HIPAA or similar compliance standards.
Fluency in user management (e.g., Okta, Active Directory, Google Workspace).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills—you can explain technical topics to non-technical colleagues with clarity and empathy.
Comfortable being a team of one with the potential to build and lead as we grow.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with healthcare platforms (EHRs, telehealth systems, etc.)
Scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Certifications: AWS (DevOps, SysOps, or Networking), CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent
