The Opportunity 

The Macquarie Government Gateway and Cloud Engineer is a key member of a highly skilled engineering team committed to the supporting Government customers. Our customers utilise Macquarie’s Secure Internet Gateway and Cloud Hosting Solutions. This role is responsible forproviding third level engineering, technical guidance and specialist infrastructure support. 

 

What you'll do

 

    • Support knowledge management initiatives to ensure technical design and support information is comprehensively documented to encompass new product introduction. 
    • Undertake service validation and testing activities to provide the assurance that infrastructure is robust and implemented in a resilient manner 
    • Support transition planning for significant infrastructure changes. 
    • Implement strategies to improve problem detection through analysis of incidents to identify patterns of behaviour. 
    • Undertake problem investigation and diagnosis. 
    • Assess business requirements for new opportunities to support the technical consultancy / pre-sales function. 
    • Undertake systems analysis and process design review to determine compatibility of infrastructure and services proposed. 
    • Propose architecture and technology to achieve requirements. 
    • Review Scope of Work (SOW) documents to deliver, approve or provide feedback to ensure alignment and that documents meet defined quality objectives. 
    • Undertake release and deployment activities of new infrastructure ensuring a smooth transition into operations 

 

Your ideal skills and experience

 

    • Current Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role  
    • Deep understanding in network routing and switching 
    • Experience in Fortinet product suite or related technology 
    • Experience in Bluecoat Proxy or related technology  
    • Experience in Cisco Secure Email Gateway or related technology 
    • Experience in F5 product suite
