As a Senior Linux Systemadministrator, you will be part of our Infrastructure Team and work closely with developers from Backend, Frontend, and Microservice departments. You will be responsible for the stable, performant, and scalable operation of our platform and continuously develop our hybrid infrastructure.

🎯 The Role

You will be responsible for managing and developing our Linux-based infrastructure in a hybrid environment (On-Premise and AWS).

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Operate and develop our Linux-based infrastructure (Debian/Ubuntu) in a hybrid environment (On-Premise and AWS)
• Automate our infrastructure and deployments with Infrastructure-as-Code and continuously develop existing processes
• Develop and operate our CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated, seamless build, test, and deployment processes
• Collaborate with the team to drive the further development of our platform towards a service-oriented architecture
• Operate and optimize our web and proxy infrastructure (Nginx, HAProxy) and our high-traffic, predominantly PHP-based applications (7.4 and 8.x)
• Monitor and optimize our systems regarding performance, availability, and security
• Work with both Bare-Metal systems and containers and operate services based on the HashiCorp stack (Consul, Nomad, Vault, Terraform/Terragrunt)
• Actively participate in architectural decisions and technical further developments and work closely with the team using Git-based workflows (IaC, Code Reviews, Standards)

📌 Required Qualifications

• Several years of experience in operating productive Linux environments (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
• Experience in operating On-Premise and Cloud infrastructures (preferably AWS)
• Solid knowledge in automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Proficient in using Git as a central tool for collaboration, versioning, and quality assurance
• Experience with container technologies (Docker) and ideally in operating distributed systems
• Good understanding of performance, scalability, and security – ideally in the context of highly available web platforms
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools and the ability to derive targeted optimizations from them
• Enjoy working in a team, actively participate in technical discussions, and take responsibility for your topics
• Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) are required
