📋 Job Overview

Imunify360 is a multi-layer Linux server security suite — WAF, IDS/IPS, malware scanning and cleanup, proactive defence, patch management, reputation — running as an agent on hundreds of thousands of customer servers, backed by a cloud estate of scanning, correlation and signature-delivery services on our own bare metal. We are seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to define and implement service level indicators (SLIs) and service level objectives (SLOs) for our platform, build the collection system, and create alerting and escalation processes.

🎯 The Role

You will be responsible for defining what \"working\" means for approximately 70 components of our platform, building the collection system to gather these indicators, and creating alerting and escalation processes. This is a greenfield charter inside a brownfield estate, and you will be defining the SRE team, SLO framework, and paging culture from the ground up.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Define what \"working\" means for ~70 components and build the taxonomy this product actually needs.
• Build the collection system to get these indicators off the fleet and into a queryable store.
• Build alerting and alert management with symptom-based, SLO-anchored alerting.
• Build escalation processes, including component ownership mapping, severity matrix, and follow-the-sun rota design.
• Design the escalation system so that squads carry their own pagers.

📌 Required Qualifications

• Substantial production-engineering or SRE experience, including at least one environment where you defined the SLO framework.
• Strong Python. Comfortable reading and modifying Go or Rust.
• Deep practical grip on time-series and event telemetry at scale: Prometheus/OpenMetrics, Grafana, an Alertmanager-class routing layer, and a columnar store for high-cardinality fleet data (ClickHouse or equivalent).
• Distributed systems debugging on bare metal and long-lived hosts.
• Configuration management and CI at production scale.

While not required, the following experiences would be beneficial:

• Experience with security-relevant systems and processes.
• Experience with incident command practices and blameless postmortems.
