Job Overview

We’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead the Release Observability product engineering group at LaunchDarkly. This is a strategic, high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who has experience in building and scaling observability products and organizations at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide engineering strategy and execution across Release Observability teams
• Partner with product, design, and key engineering leaders to build statistically rigorous products
• Manage and mentor senior leaders, cultivate high-performing teams, and scale the organization
• Provide critical input on roadmap and architectural decisions
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define success metrics and ensure successful launches

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles
• Experience with observability systems and event-based metrics infrastructure
• Strong architectural understanding of data platforms and cloud-native infrastructure
• Demonstrated success scaling teams through company growth phases
• Prior experience at a product-led SaaS or DevTools company is a plus
