Role: 

This role at Jumio owns end to end solutions supporting cost efficiency and governance in operations. The role collaborates with a friendly and supportive global team, including working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Testing and Development teams. 

Example Responsibilities

• Maintain and help us to evolve efficient operation of our cloud workloads
• Create visibility for the teams if their services run efficiently
• Work on reports for management and decision makers in terms of cost
• Help with cost governance on a constant basis
• Exploit saving mechanisms of cloud providers (Savings plans, reserved instances)
• help teams balance cost, reliability and performance
• Have an idea what different parts of the company have on their roadmap and consult on cost predictions
• Develop a common understanding of the techstack in relation to cost and efficiency
• Inspect our Java and Python-based applications in test, staging, and production environments
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Have a direct impact on Jumio’s business by identifying innovative solutions to operational challenges

Experience and Qualifications 

• Knowledge of web services stack and cloud cost structures
• Experience working with public cloud hosted services (AWS, Azure, GCP) 
• Experience with git and associated workflows
• Basic programming/scripting skills (Bash/Python)

Great to have Experience and Qualifications

• Terraform and the concept of immutable infrastructure
• Proven experience in cost optimization in the cloud
• Experience with APM (e.g. Datadog)
• Idea of distributed systems
• Bachelor’s or advanced Degree in Computer Science or closely related field
• AWS architecture certification

We offer an annual full-time salary (38.5 hr week) of min 55.000EUR gross, with a possible overpayment depending on qualifications and experience.
