The DevOps Engineer role requires a unique combination of skills and expertise in
implementing solution architectures on multi-cloud platforms, with a strong emphasis on AWS.
The position involves leveraging complete infrastructure automation, creating robust CI/CD pipelines with code quality and security gates, and providing hands-on guidance to product development teams in a startup environment. Proficiency in cloud-native technologies, containers, and microservices is an absolute must.
We prefer candidates with demonstrable experience in releasing production code and developing SaaS offerings on AWS and other cloud platforms. Having domain knowledge in security and compliance is a bonus.
The ideal candidate should possess a proactive "can-do" attitude, be highly innovative, and excel in designing and implementing technical solutions while being an exceptional problem solver.
Responsibilities:
Innovate and develop cutting-edge cloud solutions through automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps tools (CI/CD, code quality, security, and monitoring), source code management and cloud services.
Ensure that the infrastructure, services, and applications developed meet all relevant standards, including security, monitoring, performance, and SLAs.
Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS DevOps tools such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, and AWS CodeDeploy.
Implement and manage Kubernetes-based container orchestration for deploying and
scaling containerized applications.
Implement and manage configuration management, secrets management and log management tools.
Maintain source code repository tool Github, its workflows and actions.
Implement Monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
Implement Alerting tools such as Pagerduty.
Regularly monitor and fine-tune system performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing performance-enhancing changes.
Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem discussions to continuously improve the resilience of systems and processes.
Work closely with security teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps workflow, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001) and company policies.
Consult and collaborate with Solution Architects on technology and solution decisions and implementations.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline build, deployment, and release processes.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure and DevOps processes. Share knowledge and best practices through workshops, training sessions, and documentation to upskill teams.
Collaborate with virtual teams, understanding regional cultural considerations, and fostering strong working relationships.
Participate in innovation activities by providing feedback, generating ideas, and collaborating with multi-site teams.
Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, Kubernetes trends, and DevOps practices to propose and implement new solutions and optimizations.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required :
Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years experience in the Devops domain.
Proficiency in Terraform (IaC), Jenkins Groovy scripts, and Python. Strong development background and mindset required.
Extensive experience installing, configuring, integrating, and maintaining tools and technologies such as Jenkins, JIRA, SonarQube, Fortify, Git, ZAP, Nessus/Anchore, and automating monitoring using ELK, Grafana, DataDog, New Relic, etc.
Familiarity in any of the scripting languages such as Shell Script, Python, Javascript and NodeJs.
Extensive experience configuring AWS services, including ECS, EKS, ECR, S3, RDS, KMS, MSK and ElasticSearch.
Familiarity with database clustering, replication, sharding, and partitioning for scaling databases in high-traffic applications.
Experience with AWS database services (e.g., RDS snapshots, DynamoDB backups, Aurora backups) for automated and manual backup management.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS and ECS.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, and Jenkins.
Experience with source code repository tool Github and its workflows and actions.
Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Solid understanding of cloud-native pillars such as cost, security, performance, and resiliency.
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate clearly in plain English and comprehend others.
Desired :
Customer-focused with a bias for rapid prototyping, designing, and scaling.
Familiarity with identity management (IDM) solutions like AWS Cognito and Keycloak.
Knowledge of security and encryption using tools like Vault, HCM, KMS, etc.
Ability to work in small/large distributed teams, with a hands-on mindset, guiding product development teams in deploying B2B SaaS/Applications on the cloud.
