About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer at Beam, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our software infrastructure to ensure its scalability, reliability, and performance. Your primary focus will be on implementing and maintaining automation pipelines, optimizing cloud resources, and ensuring seamless deployment and operation of our AI platforms. We are seeking a dedicated individual with a deep passion for DevOps practices, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Please note: This is a 3-month contractual position, and is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

This position requires a blend of technical expertise in cloud computing and DevOps practices. You key responsibilities will entail the following:

• Architect, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure that supports a diverse range of applications and services, ensuring they are robust and responsive.
• Develop and maintain automation pipelines to enhance the efficiency of deployment, monitoring, and system management processes.
• Optimize cloud resource usage to maximize performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability while keeping an eye on emerging best practices.
• Implement and oversee containerization technologies (like Docker) and orchestration tools (like Kubernetes) to ensure seamless application management.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address system issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, aiming to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, deployment processes, and incident response.
• Uphold high standards of security and compliance across all infrastructure components, ensuring best practices are always in place.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members on DevOps practices and tools.
• Stay current with the latest developments in cloud computing and DevOps technologies to continuously enhance our infrastructure practices.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a DevOps or similar role with a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control systems like Git, and automation tools such as Jenkins.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Javascript, Typescript or Python.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi, with experience in deploying and managing infrastructure in a cloud environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and drive them to successful completion.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for tech.
