Rex has made it its mission to help pet owners care for their best friends optimally. We aim to fundamentally redesign veterinary care, focusing on team satisfaction and development and an improved customer experience. Your voice is heard, and your experience is needed to help Rex grow faster.
Rex tackles the complex challenge of digitally transforming veterinary medicine. We develop and operate a highly available, scalable platform that enables outstanding customer experience and efficient, data-driven practice processes. As we continuously open new practices and expand our presence in Germany, we need someone to ensure every new location is technically ready from day one and that our platform infrastructure remains stable with our growth.
As our IT Systemadministrator, you ensure reliable systems and drive excellent processes in the following areas:
Practice Infrastructure & Setups: Plan and implement the complete IT setup for new openings โ from IT procurement, network design, and VPN connections to workstations, POS terminals, printers, and medical devices. Validate everything works smoothly before go-live.
Running Practice Support: Provide troubleshooting and hardware support for our growing practice network and develop standardized, repeatable setup processes that become faster and more reliable with each opening.
Compliance & Data Protection: Ensure our infrastructure and practice setups comply with data protection requirements (including DSGVO/GDPR) for handling customer and patient data โ from on-site access controls to cloud storage, security, and auditing.
Location & Language: Fluent German and English skills in speech and writing. Current residence in Germany (preferably in Berlin, but not mandatory) and a valid work permit are essential.
Travel Willingness: Willingness (20%) for occasional business trips to practice locations.
Experience & Ownership: At least 4 years of practical experience in IT system administration or a similar hybrid role. You take full responsibility and independently manage infrastructure projects throughout their lifecycle โ from planning to support.
Required Technical Skills:
Network Technology: Solid knowledge of fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, WLAN configuration) and practical experience in connecting sites or branches โ ideally in a macOS environment.
Multi-Site Experience: Experience in IT support for multi-site organizations (e.g., healthcare, retail, or hospitality) โ from decentralized site IT to centralized infrastructure.
Collaboration: Experience working directly with software engineering teams (rather than isolated IT helpdesk roles).
Core Engineering Practices: Experience with on-call duty and incident response, and a strong troubleshooting mindset for complex cloud and system environments.
We offer a competitive salary and an inclusive work environment that values diversity and equal opportunity.
A valid work permit for Germany is a mandatory requirement for this role.
