What Your Day Will Look Like
As a DevOps Engineer at Hawk-Eye Innovations, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining infrastructure that supports cutting-edge technology used by elite sports teams. Your role will involve building large-scale data and video streaming platforms, managing R&D system deployments, and reducing complexity for development teams by streamlining service deployment processes.
You’ll work closely with development and product teams, as well as other DevOps Engineers, to foster a DevOps culture that drives security improvements and enables efficient, independent teamwork. You will also play a key role in enhancing our infrastructure’s security by reducing risks and improving the visibility of security incidents.
This role comes with a high level of autonomy, allowing you to shape and guide our approach to DevOps administration, development, and product management. There may be occasions where on-call or weekend work is required to support critical systems and ensure uninterrupted service.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and build infrastructure for large-scale data and video streaming platforms.
Manage the deployment of R&D systems, enabling the wider engineering teams.
Streamline service deployment processes to reduce time and complexity.
Drive improvements to security, reducing risks and enhancing incident visibility.
Collaborate with development teams to provide expertise in infrastructure management.
Communicate effectively to ensure the delivery of optimal solutions.
Share ideas and techniques across teams, contributing to and learning from the collective knowledge.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
To succeed in this role, you’ll need experience with:
Amazon Web Services (AWS): IAM, Load Balancers, VPC, S3, Route53, EC2, ECS.
AWS Direct Connect, Peering, and PrivateLink (desirable).
Ansible and Terraform for automation and configuration.
CI/CD pipelines and security principles.
Docker & Containerization technologies.
Version control systems (Git or similar).
Message brokers (AMQ, Pulsar, RabbitMQ).
What We’d Love You to Have
Experience with package repositories (e.g., Artifactory).
Knowledge of Observability, Tracing, Monitoring & Alerting tools like DataDog, Grafana, Elastic.
Familiarity with Microservice Architecture and High Availability systems.
Experience with databases/datastores.
