ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be a key technical leader within our team, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and product managers to architect and support high-scale data ingestion, empowering customers to extract valuable insights and accelerating interconnection and power grid development.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure with a focus on scalability, reliability, and security.
Implement and manage cloud solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with our data platforms.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Develop backend services using Node.js/TypeScript, ensuring high availability and performance.
Lead architectural discussions and decision-making for cloud-native applications, data pipelines, and microservices.
Enhance system observability, monitoring, and alerting to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues.
Advocate for best practices in cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization.
Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture by mentoring peers, participating in technical design reviews, and driving innovation within the cloud engineering space.
ABOUT YOU:
8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, software development, or DevOps, with expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi).
Expertise in serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems.
Solid programming experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Golang.
Deep understanding of networking, security, and cloud governance best practices.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), and logging solutions (ELK stack, CloudWatch, etc.).
Experience managing relational (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, MongoDB) databases.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges into actionable solutions.
A collaborative mindset, with excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Nice to Have:
Experience with multi-cloud environments.
Familiarity with machine learning workflows and big data processing.
Experience with hybrid cloud or edge computing architectures.
