Position Summary

 

An exciting opportunity for а DevOps Engineer to join the Product & Technology department, of a growing business and a globally recognised brand.  Working in teams with Sofia or in distributed teams in London and Sofia, you will be responsible for delivering innovative technical solutions as you build and operate world class platforms to grow the Financial Times strategic business models. You will have the autonomy to select the tools and technologies you need to build and operate services responsible for FT brand critical capabilities.  Someone who is comfortable with the ever changing technical landscape and is keen to contribute to the company’s processes and broader know-how would thrive in this role.

 

 

 

 

In this role you will

 

• Work closely with the rest of the team and support them in tasks within your area of expertise
• Manage the team’s cloud infrastructure estate
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Understand and play an active part in designing the architecture, tooling and release cycle processes used by the engineering teams across Product & Technology
• Contribute to company-wide processes, frameworks and guidelines

 

 

 

 

What you will bring to the role

 

 

Essential

 

• Linux - intermediate or higher
• 3+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or a similar position
• Being proactive and showing initiative

 

Desirable

 

• Experience working with AWS Cloud services
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, EKS/ECS, MSK/Kafka)
• Experience with tools for managing Kubernetes manifests (Helm; Kustomize or etc.)
• Experience in CI/CD (Jenkins, Gitlab CI, CircleCI etc...)
• Proficiency in Monitoring tools (Prometheus stack or AWS Cloudwatch)
• Experience with Logging solutions (fluent.d, fluent bit, Splunk)
• Experience with Secret management technologies (Vault; Sealed Secrets; Doppler or etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, eksctl, Chief, Puppet etc.)
• Experience in Bash scripting

 

Would be considered an advantage

 

• Experience with Prometheus stack (prometheus; thanos; alert manager; grafana)
• Knowledge in networking
• Experience with Service Mesh technologies
• Experience with DNS management (Route53 or etc.)
