Platform Engineering at Felix shapes the fundamental infrastructure empowering our engineering team to provide on-demand treatment services to over 500,000 Canadians. As a Senior Platform Engineer, your critical role revolves around designing and building the backbone of our proprietary digital healthcare ecosystem.
Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, & Engineering teams, your expertise fuels innovation, paving the way for groundbreaking products and transformative experiences. You'll focus on architecting scalable infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for patient acquisition, engagement, and retention.

Responsibilities
Designing the Cloud Foundation: Take ownership of designing a scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure architecture. From container-level details to optimizing resource allocation, you will architect various infrastructure components to establish a solid foundation for our platform.
Ensuring Security: Security is paramount to our platform's success. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust security measures. You will manage access controls, establish secure communication channels, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Monitoring and Observability: Build upon our strong observability culture by implementing comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems. These systems will provide deep insights into the health and performance of our platform. By leveraging appropriate tools, you will proactively identify potential issues and ensure quick resolutions.
Collaboration and Support: Foster close collaboration with engineers and stakeholders, gathering requirements, addressing technical challenges, and providing guidance on infrastructure-related decisions. Additionally, support and mentor junior team members, empowering their growth and development.
Requirements
Cloud Infrastructure Experience: 4+ years of experience with AWS, including but not limited to, VPC, DNS, networking, S3, ECS, EKS, RDS, and Aurora.
Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning.
Containerization and Orchestration: Strong knowledge of Docker and experience with containerized workflows using ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes.
Security and Compliance: Handling private healthcare data, and implementing secure practices.
Virtualization: Proficiency with virtualization technologies like KVM and Proxmox, allowing for efficient resource allocation and management.
Clear Communication and Comfort with Ambiguity: Effective communication around technical concepts and a proactive approach to problem-solving and driving projects and teams forward.
Bonus
Database Administration and Tuning: Experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL, including administration and tuning skills.
