THE ROLE
We are seeking a Platform Engineer with a solid understanding of Cloud Infrastructure components and a DevOps mindset. If you are familiar with or experienced in these areas and aspire to be part of a globally distributed and diverse team, we want you! In the role of Platform Engineer, you will collaborate within a cross-functional team, empowered to rapidly iterate and release new features for the core ecosystem of the FARFETCH Tech Platform. Your contributions will play a crucial role in expanding our Platform and advancing core technologies to facilitate the delivery of our products, all while enhancing the developer experience.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

    • Build and grow the FARFETCH Internal Developer Platform
    • Improve the day-to-day developer experience and empower the engineering team's autonomy by abstracting the infrastructure layer
    • Evolve the core technologies that facilitate the delivery of new software products, such as SCM, configuration management, service discovery, and others
    • Adhere to best practices related to scale, performance, geo-distribution, multi-cloud, code maintenance, and documentation. Keep evolving, keep improving
    • Fully own what you build by supporting your colleagues in using and extending the automation and tools, enabling them to deliver faster, better, and more robust solutions. If you build it, you own it

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

    • A professional with a minimum of 2 to 3 years of demonstrable experience in software development and infrastructure
    • Proficient in CI/CD practices and experienced with orchestration technologies
    • Skilled with containerization technologies, ideally with Docker and Kubernetes
    • Familiar with public cloud providers, preferably Azure
    • Understanding of Linux systems and networking, with the ability to perform general troubleshooting
    • Knowledgeable with Infrastructure as Code best practices and technologies
    • Always focused on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of your software end-to-end
    • A learning mindset, capable of researching and implementing features in unfamiliar technologies in collaboration with experts
    • Proficient in English, both in written and verbal communication skills
