DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Lightcast is a trusted advisor on labor market information for customers across a wide array of markets. We build SaaS products that combine many different kinds of workforce data to accurately inform our clients’ decisions about college course offerings, hiring, site selection, economic development, and much more. We need an experienced developer to join us in producing premier software tools for understanding labor market data.  

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer that will help our team refine DevOps practice. You will work closely with technical leads to improve DevOps practices in the company. You will establish configuration management, automate our infrastructure, implement continuous integration, and train the team in DevOps best practices to achieve a continuously deployed system.

Qualifications – B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.S/M.Tech  in Computer Science/IT from a reputed institution
Experience - 2 to 4 years

 

Responsibilities

 

    • Design and deploy scalable, highly available, secure, and fault tolerant systems on AWS for development.
    • Implement and manage container orchestration using Kubernetes, specifically on Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
    • Focus on building Dockerization of application components by integrating with AWS ECS and Fargate.
    • Modify / Update existing applications in AWS to improve performance.
    • Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve common goals.
    • Assist development teams to build and deploy microservices-based applications in AWS with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes

 

Requirements

 

    • Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: EKS, ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, VPC, Route53, ELB, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda.
    • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
    • Proficient in Python programming language and tech stacks.
    • Experience in Full software development lifecycle.
    • Deep understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts.
    • Experience building scalable infrastructure in AWS.
    • Experience with one or more AWS SDKs and/or CLI.
    • Expertise in leveraging Automation / DevOps principles, experience with operational tools, and able to apply best practices for infrastructure and software deployment
    • Experience in Nginx, SSH, PostgreSQL, Elastic Search
    • Hands on experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes
    • Familiar with tools such as Git, Gitlab, TeamCity, JIRA, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash Kibana)
    • Passion for solving challenging issues
