Join the Divio Adventure!
Passionate about infrastructure and security, your head always in the cloud, and looking for new challenges? Look no further! Although Divio is a small hosting provider, we strive for ambitious goals.
What is Divio?
As a small team equipped with keyboards and ambitious goals, we provide the ability to easily deploy containerized applications to any cloud (AWS, Azure, Exoscale, you name it!) and region with just a single click. Divio offers all the features you would expect from a PaaS, and more. To find out more, visit https://www.divio.com/developers/ or, even better, try it yourself to get a feel of what we build.
What about the job?
As a Site Reliability Engineer at Divio, the overall performance, security, cost-effectiveness and reliability of the cloud infrastructure are in your hands (no pressure). Together with the team, you manage the entire software development life cycle, end to end. This includes creating robust solutions that follow security and good engineering principles, constantly monitoring and improving the system, replacing “boring” manual tasks with powerful automation, answering swiftly to client queries (L3 only, don’t worry) and participating in the “on-call” rotation. In all those activities, you act wisely and with foresight, make accurate estimations, and assess the consequences of your actions thoroughly.
At Divio, you will be able to touch everything, to bring your own ideas to the table and (hopefully) to have fun. However, we also care for excellence and expect you to fit into the mindset of the existing SRE/engineering team. You understand that your work is not only about programming. Your proactive nature makes it easy for you to anticipate problems and communicate any risks at an early stage. If something goes wrong, you avoid passing the blame and take on the responsibility for your work. You can see the impact your work has on others and if there is an issue arising you address it positively. You are helpful and considerate with your team members and if you can, help others to grow. On the other hand, you do not hesitate to ask for help and are actively seeking to learn from more experienced colleagues. You are passionate and continuously stay up-to-date with industry developments.
As a heads up, the recruitment process at Divio is only 3 steps: (1) a short meeting of around 30 minutes to get to know each other, (2) a no-code technical interview of around 1.5 hours with the subjects given in advance, (3) a final administrative meeting to settle on the salary, conditions, contract, etc.
