๐ข About CoachHub
CoachHub is a global leader in digital coaching, making coaching a foundational right for every employee, everywhere. We combine human coaching, behavioral science, and technology to empower global enterprises to unlock their full potential. With $330M in funding and a network of 3,500+ coaches across 90+ countries, we are redefining how the world learns and leads through personal, measurable, and scalable development.
๐ฏ The Role
As a DevOps Engineer, you will have a direct impact on getting closer to the vision of digital coaching for everyone and be part of one of our cross-functional agile teams. You will join a small, autonomous DevOps team (part of a wider 8-person Infrastructure, Data, and QA organization) running a stable, production-grade AWS/Kubernetes platform, with room to improve it step by step.
Your core mission is to simplify the developers' worldโbuilding the automation and reliability that allows engineering teams to deliver features seamlessly to production. Because our stack and hosting are stable and we value work-life balance, this role involves no on-call procedures or middle-of-the-night emergencies; instead, we focus on proactive engineering, rolling releases, and zero-surprise operations.
โ
Key Responsibilities
- Build & Maintain Infrastructure: Build and maintain development tools and cloud infrastructure, managing production instances and how applications are distributed on the internet.
- Automate & Streamline: Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes so developers can ship features smoothly and safely.
- Manage IaC: Deploy and maintain infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), especially Terraform / OpenTofu.
- Champion Security: Apply security best practices (IAM, network, secrets) in collaboration with the security team, and contribute to pen-testing and security discussions.
- Ensure Production Reliability: Monitor production and analyze production issues to resolve them by identifying the root cause, ensuring seamless rolling releases (such as certificate rotations and DB upgrades) without user interruption.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with other engineers (including our Data team in Spain and QA team in Berlin) to ensure development teams follow established processes.
- Plan & Prioritize: Participate in daily standups to align on priorities, unblock teammates, and contribute to the planning and prioritization of infrastructure work and new tooling requests.
๐ Required Qualifications
- Production AWS & Kubernetes Mastery: 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes in a real production environment, including public-facing applications where uptime and user impact matter.
- Cluster Upgrade Experience: Experience planning, running, or actively contributing to Kubernetes cluster upgrades and handling the resulting regressions.
- Solid IaC Practice: Strong hands-on experience with Terraform / OpenTofu.
- CI/CD & GitOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
- Security Fundamentals: Good grasp of AWS security fundamentals (IAM, roles, networking).
- Observability & Root-Cause Analysis: Monitoring and alerting experience, paired with the ability to troubleshoot and root-cause production issues.
- Remote-First & Autonomous: Solid experience working remotely in a multidisciplinary environmentโstaying available, responsive, and able to unblock yourself and others without micromanagement.
- Pragmatic Collaborator: Excellent communication skills and high emotional and professional maturity. You propose solutions when articulating problems, value collective brainstorming over ego, and know how to balance performance, budget, and time.
- Quality & Architectural Awareness: A track record of high-quality work as evaluated by peers, with the ability to anticipate how your contributions affect the larger architecture, risk mitigation, and contingency plans.
- English Fluency: Good spoken and written English communication skills for daily collaboration across our international team.
โญ Desirable Experience
- Experience with Managed Kafka (MSK) and RDS/Postgres (can also be learned on the job); Prometheus-compatible stacks (VictoriaMetrics), Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Sentry.
- Terragrunt, multi-region setups, and cloud cost optimization.
