🎯 The Role

As the Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for the end-to-end cloud architecture of NEURAGym, from data acquisition at the Gym-Edge to processing pipelines, model training, and deployment. You will work closely with software engineers, providing technical guidance and setting architecture standards.

✅ Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and further development of the cloud architecture for the NEURAGym Physical AI Training Platform.
• Take technical overall responsibility from domain modeling and service design to infrastructure and operations.
• Work closely with software engineers and provide technical orientation.
• Set architecture standards and make difficult design decisions to ensure the platform remains scalable, maintainable, and future-proof.
• Design and further develop domain-driven, independent services on AWS with a clear focus on serverless and managed services.
• Make central architectural decisions across service boundaries: API design, event-driven flows, storage strategies, and consistency models.
• Implement and enforce standards for IaC, CI/CD, observability, and security across the team.
• Translate product and AI requirements into concrete, implementable architecture designs in close collaboration with Product, ML, and Robotics teams.
• Identify and actively manage technical debt to ensure the platform remains evolvable as requirements grow.
• Mentor software engineers and serve as an anchor for the Physical AI Platform Engineering Team.

📌 Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing and operating modern cloud systems, including at least 3 years as a Cloud Architect or Principal Engineer.
• Deep AWS expertise, particularly with serverless and managed services architectures.
• Strong understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Self-Contained Systems (SCS), and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Strong knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture, Data Pipelines, and asynchronous processing systems at scale.
• Experience with IaC (AWS CDK preferred, Terraform also relevant).
• Good programming skills, ideally in TypeScript and Python.
• Proven technical leadership: setting standards, guiding engineers, and steering architectural decisions across teams.
• Very good English skills; ability to explain architectural decisions clearly, even to non-technical stakeholders. German is a plus.

⭐ Desirable Experience

• Experience in designing data platforms or ML infrastructure.
• Experience with MLOps toolchains.
