OVERVIEW
CTS Cloud Engineers are highly trained technical experts able to configure, deploy, manage, or troubleshoot cloud services, servers, networks, or end-user systems on various projects. CTS Cloud Engineers (CEs) would be considered Level 3 Network and/or Systems Engineers.
A Cloud Engineer should have exceptional technical expertise and above-average customer service skills to serve as an example of service excellence to others. CEs must exhibit strong initiative and thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical Excellence: More than most roles at CTS, this is primarily a technical position. See the technical requirements below for details. A cloud engineer must be able to construct a reliable, working cloud platform and other systems from the various listed technologies, working independently.
Project Ownership: As a Cloud Engineer, you will own all technical and logistical aspects of projects that you will participate in. Successful CE's will work closely with others to ensure that all methodologies are adhered to and followed, projects are completed on time and on budget, and issues are escalated promptly and brought to a successful resolution.
Systems Design and Integration: As a member of our senior Engineering team, you will participate in efforts to analyze and learn new technologies, test their efficacy and quality, document their functionality for other engineers and L1/L2 support personnel, and ultimately deploy it to clients.
Service Excellence: You will work with CTS clients and will be required to actively demonstrate our firm's commitment to exceptional client service and communication as our representative.
Rigorous Documentation Detail: As a builder of new systems on a team that must maintain them, you must develop and strictly adhere to documentation and knowledge transfer practices that enable the firm to render excellent support effectively and consistently on those systems.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A high degree of proficiency in the below or similar technologies is required for CE's:
Cloud Technologies: Proven record of accomplishment of defining standards and implementation, migration between, and identity management and synchronization between on-premises environments and the following cloud systems:
Networking: Deep understanding of networking theory and standards and proven record of accomplishment of deploying and supporting networks in the cloud, on-premises, and between.
Server and Systems Technologies: Understanding on-premise technologies, how they interact with the cloud environment, and how to migrate from one to another.
MSP Systems: Experience using MSP tools for time tracking, documentation, communication with internal and external stakeholders, and managing and monitoring infrastructure and endpoints.
End-User Technologies: Keen understanding of how end users' devices work, how end users utilize their devices and technologies, and how changes affect the end-user experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
BA / BS required; technical degree preferred; advanced degree and active Microsoft, VMWare, SonicWall, Cisco , or any other technology listed above certifications are a plus.
HOURS AND LOCATION
Cloud Engineers typically work Monday through Friday, 9 am-5:30 PM. Some night and/or weekend work may sometimes be required, as well as infrequent travel as CTS expands nationally. THIS POSITION IS REMOTE OR IN BROOKLYN, NY.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this role is $94,000 - $114,000. This role comes with our standard benefits. Two weeks of paid vacation, one week of sick leave, and ten holidays, and two floating holidays. We also provide health insurance and other ancillary benefits.
