The Role

The role will be responsible for helping to develop and maintain our applications infrastructure to support the development of our bespoke applications. This will include (but not constrained to) build and deployment processes, at a software and hardware level, Source Control systems and process, provisioning and managing Azure resources.

Responsible for multiple aspects of the business including Pricing, IT & Development, Commercial Operations, Financial Transactions, Management Accounting and Reporting.

The Technical Operations team are responsible for the CBS Bespoke Internal Application & Client Websites integrated with third party products where applicable.

The team goals are to be the leaders of change within the business, embedding wherever possible the systems and processes within our clients workflow further enhancing the interaction with CBS.

The salary banding for this role is between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum. The working hours are 35 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid working position with a minimum of 2 days per month in the office. As we have a comprehensive induction plan, the expectation of office attendance in the first month will be greater.

You will be responsible for helping to develop and maintain our applications infrastructure to support the development of our bespoke applications This will include (but not constrained to) build and deployment processes, at a software and hardware level, Source Control systems and process, provisioning and managing Azure resources

Further responsibilities will include:

Team & Processes

• Learn new technologies, keep abreast of existing technologies and contribute to the evolution of best practices of the department
• Collaborate with teams to peer review ideas, code and designs.
• Define, implement, and champion policies which improve our software delivery process
• Write, review and take responsibility for clear, concise technical documentation
• Monitoring of KPI’s and SLA’s
• Investigate and analyse incidents with root causes analysis

Technical

• Maintain code within Git and understand various branching strategies to help improve our CI processes
• Undertake priority support on major system issues and fixes when required
• Maintaining application infrastructure by monitoring and taking preventative actions
• Set up real-time alerts for development tooling across all environments. Ensure application logs, and performance and metrics data is captured and available to assist with problem solving.
• Own the continuous integration pipelines to support detection of issues early in the development process
• Own the deployment process, with a focus on regular, small deployments to support our agile process
• Work with the release manager to refine our release process
• Assess, maintain and improve all areas of systems security
• Define, implement, and champion policies which improve our software delivery process
• Integrate source control systems and automated test frameworks & configure build and test infrastructure for multiple platforms across all projects
• Diagnose problems in build pipelines and set up real-time alerts. Collect/report/visualize logs, metrics, performance data
• Monitor builds and developer systems, proactively solving developer problems before being reported
• Assist our IT team to deploy infrastructure as code
• Build cloud first environments to support our on-going application refactoring and cloud first company objective
• Any other reasonable duties as required

• Degree or diploma level certification in a relevant IT field like Data or Business Intelligence
