Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Overview

Join the Media Platforms SRE team under the Apple Service Engineering division, responsible for powering the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. This is an exciting opportunity to combine art and technology at scale, delivering entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run services that ingest, transform, and manage all media content across Apple products


• Ensure systems are highly available, fast, and efficient


• Interact with diverse system types including public-facing web & API developer services, media processing pipelines, and internal business tools


• Develop custom software, tools, server-side systems, and APIs for Apple services


• Transition services from bare metal fleet to modern Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes micro-services

Required Qualifications

• BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 6+ years experience, or MS degree with 4+ years experience


• At least 6 years in Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role


• Advanced experience with programming languages (Golang, Python, Java, C++)


• Deep systems and infrastructure knowledge


• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for designing and building reliable systems


• Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration with Kubernetes


• Automation advocate with experience in removing operational load with software


• Experience with deploying, supporting, and monitoring services, platforms, and application stacks
