We are looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer to join our DevSecOps team. Alto’s DSO team:
Manages the infrastructure that runs our pharmacy platform with high uptime and throughput
Builds tooling that empowers engineers to work effectively and produce safe and compliant code
Ensures the security of sensitive systems and data
Alto’s mission is to improve the quality of life for our patients by providing a better pharmacy experience; the DSO team provides the foundations that will enable us to achieve our mission at scale!
Example Projects:
Secure sensitive systems and data through an Okta backed just in time access tool with self and third party approved privilege escalation and audit logging
Support testing, bug bashes, demos, and trainings by enabling engineers to easily stand up and seed customized non production environments
Improve scalability by enhancing our platform to independently deploy, run, and scale pharmacy platform domain applications
Enable a high quality development environment through purpose built tooling and workflows
Accelerate Your Career as You

A Bit About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering; preference for a Master's degree
10+ years of progressive software engineering experience in a production environment
5+ years of experience working with AWS Cloud infrastructure
Expertise in architecting complex systems for long-term maintainability, performance, and scalability
Strong engineering fundamentals
Proven commitment to technical best practices, including code style, documentation, code review, bug fixing, and production issue mitigation
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment and maintain a growth mindset
A pragmatic approach to problem solving that’s biased towards impact
A strong sense of ownership over your work and a desire to uplevel your peers
Passion for Alto’s mission and our company values
Experience designing and implementing service oriented architectures
Experience leading a team of at least 3 other engineers
Experience in a senior or leadership role on a DevOps team

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $200,000 - $280,000
*Salary ranges for remote candidates working outside of tier 1 markets can be subject to regionalized compensation based on their respective work location.

Travel: Yes - Required up to 15% of the time
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Washington, California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, and New York.
